About

The Hive Way began with a garden, a single beehive, , and Vessie’s desire to work with nature thoughtfully, cooperatively, and in tune with the seasons.

V’s Bees (since 2023) is a personal, small‑scale beekeeping practice. The colonies are kept locally, managed with care, and allowed to follow their natural rhythms as much as possible. Some summers there are two colonies, others four – depending on how the bees are doing. Strong colonies may be split; others are sometimes lost due to issues with queens.

Beekeeping here didn’t start as a business plan. It began as curiosity, became a hobby, and then quickly grew into a genuine passion – later evolving into a modest side‑hustle rooted in respect for the bees and their environment. Honey and beeswax are taken sparingly, with the bees’ wellbeing always coming first.

Alongside beekeeping sits a long‑standing connection to growing and making. The allotment has been part of life since 2020, but the relationship with land goes back much further – growing up in the Bulgarian countryside, with grandparents who farmed and parents who kept that connection alive. Time spent away from nature, living in cities, only sharpened the sense of how grounding and necessary it is.

The Hive Way reflects that return to slower, more intentional ways of living. Gardening, keeping bees, and making things by hand – from beeswax candles to other small, practical creations – are all expressions of the same mindset: thoughtful, useful, and made to last. Nothing here is about mass production or perfection; it’s about care, learning, and doing things well.

At its heart, The Hive Way is about cooperation and leading by example rather than making big statements. It’s a quiet belief that small, considered choices – how we eat, how we care for our homes, how we manage our time and energy – can improve quality of life without needing to be loud or idealised.

This thinking also extends beyond the garden and the hives. With a background in health sciences and a growing focus on wellbeing, mindful living, and practical organisation, The Hive Way will continue to evolve over time. Coaching and reflective work are part of that wider picture and will be shared more fully when the time is right.

For now, this is a place for honest beekeeping, thoughtful making, and a way of living that stays grounded in the real world – seasonal, imperfect, and deeply connected to nature.
